Location and requirements
All our work experience training are carried out in our state of the heart office at One Canada Square, Canary Wharf, London.
You have to be 18 years and over.
You should have knowledge of bookkeeping or have studied an accounting and finance course.
You must be residing in the UK.

Structure of the work experience
- The work experience is 100% practical and interactive.
- It is done on a one to one basis in our office at One Canada Square, Canary Wharf, London.
- You will have a choice of accounting software such as Sage 50, Xero, QuickBooks and Excel to work with.
- The duration of the work experience is between 1 month – one year. Please note that there is a fee applicable for doing any work experience program at IB&Co Accountants.
The bookkeeping and accounting tasks you will get experience to do
Our team of experienced accountants will train you one to one in the following bookkeeping and accounting tasks:
- Quickbooks, Sage 50 and Oxero Accounts training – fundamentals
- Setting up opening balances
- Processing supplier invoices
- Processing customer invoices
- Processing credit notes, write offs and refunds
- Recording customer receipts
- Processing supplier payments
- Assisting with credit control
- Managing petty cash
- Payroll processing
- Processing payroll journals
- Preparing VAT returns
- Doing bank reconciliations
- Correcting errors in the general ledger
- Working with spreadsheet/Excel – fundamentals
- Doing balance sheet reconciliations
- Cash flow projections
- Preparing year end statutory accounts
- Filing of the corporation tax return
- Budgeting and Variance analysis
- Preparing a set of management accounts
- CV preparation and guidance on securing an accounting job
