Tax Advisory

Tax planning should happen before the decision, not after the deadline. IB&Co Tax Advisory helps business owners, company directors, individuals and internationally connected clients understand the potential tax implications of important financial decisions before they happen.

Most tax returns look backwards

Your tax return tells you what has already happened. But many of the financial decisions affecting your tax position were made months earlier. By the time a return is prepared, income has already been received, assets may already have been sold and business expenditure may already have occurred. Director remuneration may already have been paid, and property transactions may already be complete.

That is why proactive planning matters. IB&Co Tax Advisory helps business owners, company directors, individuals and internationally connected clients understand the potential tax implications of important financial decisions before they happen. Our role is to help identify relevant questions, potential risks and planning opportunities based on your individual circumstances.

Compliance tells you what happened. Tax planning helps you think about what happens next. Our Tax Advisory service is designed to complement your existing accounting and compliance work, not replace it.

What is IB&Co Tax Advisory?

Frequently Asked Questions

Tax advisory helps you consider the potential tax implications of important financial and business decisions before they happen, rather than after the deadline.

Our role is to help identify relevant questions, potential risks and planning opportunities based on your individual circumstances.

Business owners, company directors, individuals and internationally connected clients. You may benefit if you are running a growing business, taking income from a limited company, investing in property, planning to sell an asset, receiving overseas income or moving to or from the UK.

Before the decision, not after the deadline. Many of the decisions that affect your tax position are made months before a tax return is prepared, so an earlier conversation gives more room to plan.

Your first call is a Tax Planning Discovery & Scoping Call. We start by understanding your circumstances and objectives, then identify the areas that may need further consideration. Where detailed tax advice is required, we explain the recommended next steps and engagement process.

Depending on what you need, support can take the form of a Tax Health Check, a Tax Planning Review of a specific question or transaction, or Ongoing Tax Advisory with regular planning support. We agree the right option with you after the first call.

Not always, but it can help. Filing a return reports what has already happened. Tax advisory looks at important decisions before you make them, so you can understand the possible tax implications while there may still be room to plan.

Our Tax Advisory service is designed to complement your existing accounting and compliance work.

We quote after the discovery and scoping call, once we understand what you need.
